Stretching Your Dollar. The Money Series Part 1

I love to save money but who doesn't right? In the next few months I am going to share a few tricks I have learned to save myself money. Now I don't claim to be a financial planner or anything close to it. I just know the few tips and tricks I have learned along the way that has helped me over the years

First Tip

Whenever possible never grab a grocery cart to shop. Grocery carts are designed for you to buy more, I mean they can hold more than a wheel barrel! Now don't get me wrong there are instances where you need a cart, I know I have a dog and I buy his food in 20lb bags so a cart is necessary. On the occasion you do need a cart make a list before hand and if possible your budget for those items so you are less likely to make those impulse purchases. Plan ahead and try to make that grocery list for the entire week if you are going to use a cart. On the off times when you are just "going in for a couple of things" use a reusable shopping bag. You have less space for those impulse buys not to mention you don't want to lug it around or stand in a line holding heavy a heavy bag. I shop at Aldi alot because it's next to my house and I feel they are very cost effective. I have not used a cart in 3 years, even when someone offers one. I know pretty much depending on if I buy meat or not most of the time it's going to be under $20 It's those "few things" or "impulse buys" that seem to take our hard earned cash.

Save yourself some cash and skip the cart!
